Who knew that Hedgehogs are Lactose intolerant? Great campaign based on a great insight.

W+K is out with another sweet commercial starring hedgehogs to promote the virtues of Arla's Lactofree dairy products. The spiny beasts are told they can enjoy treats like latte, crumpets and pizza if they use Lactofree—because they're not intolerant to dairy, only to lactose, which is the the sugar in dairy.

A wonderful detail in both campaigns is the element of truth in the whimsy: Hedgehogs really are lactose intolerant, just as there really are polydactyl cats with a genetic mutation that gives them extra toes. "Hedgehogs are a gift from the advertising gods," says Hollie Newton, the W+K creative behind the Arla spot. "They are lactose intolerant, wonderful and very sweet." Still, she adds, "they are rubbish actors."

As a result, the vast majority of designers Aronowitz brings in house know how to code. It helps Facebook move faster, because they can hammer out prototypes on their own, and start testing various hypotheses, without having to wait on engineers. It’s a skill that Aronowitz herself doesn’t have, but one she told those gathered at the Designers Fund event will soon be essential. “I never learned,” she advised them, “but the next person who has my job will.”

Love Letter: My Inside Out Instagram Feed and kind of a Goodbye.

Well, you don't know what you've got till it's gone, right. I think Instagram is almost gone with everyone discussing eventually leaving the community. It's ironic that I wrote a little something about my love to Instagram exactly a year ago called 'Instagram is the new Facebook' (http://kittycountry.posterous.com/instagram-is-the-new-facebook).

But hey I know what I had. What we had. While backuping my IG data ( just in case) I realised that I have more 1000 photos in my stream, taken in just one year. It may be just a coincidence but it was one of the most exiting and best years of my life. And Instagram was always with me. So this is kind of a thanks to Instagram. And more important: A thanks to all my friends in IG who shared their life and stories with me and let me see through their eyes, into their world. And thank you for taking part in my life, this one year, this amazing, breathtaking, confusing, hilarious, grand and funny year.

You will see that in the beginning of IG I used a lot of filters, at that time I still had the 3Gs phone. Later there will be lots of photos reworked with Camera+ and my favorite filter Clarity (yes I'm a #latergramer). Actually I think that IG improved my skills as a photographer :). You will see my new apartment in Berlin, loved and lost places in the city that I love so much. I decided to start my own business and went back to school in Hamburg. We had parties and drank obviously a lot of Ginger Chio and Bubbly. There were weddings, kisses and broken hearts. Jobs in Geneva, Munich, then back in Berlin. And a dream came true and I visited my Instagram friends in New York in March.

While doing this little video with iMovie and about 200 of my photos I also realised that it means a lot to me to make all this private moments public. Instagram was always kind of intimate to me despite the fact that it's an online photo community. But it's on the phone and there is no web access to that. So this video is like a vice versa / inside out sushi roll Instagram feed.

Now that Instagram belongs to the dark side of the web it seems that everything is changing. We don't know yet what exact changes there are to come in the future but every update request in the App Store gives me the creeps. But I'm still there and most important you are still there. So I'm hopeful that some of this will stay the way it was. But then I know, some of this is already gone. So this is kind of a Goodbye to a time that will for sure never come back.

Yes we have seen a lot of fluid photography lately but the waves of ink in water are absolutely amazing and worth a post!
The images were made by taking high-speed photographs of ink mixing with water, but unlike the previous times, the artist mixed two colors and titled his new series ‘a due Colori’.
